I came to counseling after my own miscarriage in the second trimester. I was shocked by the depth of my grief, and by the sense of isolation that came with it. I lost my baby on Valentine’s Day, and working with women like you is my valentine to the world: I want you to know that you are not alone, you are not to blame, and with help, you can find hope.
For years I was a stay at home mom. I started massage school and have provided thousands of massages over the years. I marvel at the power of safe, appropriate touch to connect a person with their body again. Sometimes this reunion is met with tears, sometimes with laughter. I have supported many people in coming home again to their bodies.
I graduated from John F Kennedy University with a Masters in Somatic Counseling Psychology. This approach honors the wholeness of the body and mind as inextricably linked. I have extensive training in Healing Shame®, which is key to the work of healing for mothers and women who long to be mothers. I am certified in Somatic Resourcing, Somatic Couples Therapy, Perinatal Mood Disorders, and have studied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.
